Make Your Dreams Come True
What dream do you want to turn into reality?
Perhaps you want to travel more, set up your own business, buy a lakeside house or achieve your ideal weight. Whatever it is, you just know there’s more to your life, because you can feel it inside.
So, how can you make the change from where you are now to where you want to be?
Quite simply, you think of your dream and take three steps:
You see it. Believe it. And then act on it.
Step 1: See It
Start by drawing a picture – literally – of where you are now (your current situation) and where you want to be (your desired new reality). Draw your current situation on the left hand side of a sheet of paper and your desired new reality on the right hand side. And as you do this, you instantly create a roadmap for change.
It doesn’t matter if you’re not the best artist in the world. The important thing is to get where you are now and your dream down on a piece of paper, because we remember things better when they’re depicted visually.
Step 2: Believe It
Next you have to graciously ask your brain to help execute your vision.
The left side of the brain houses the critic who wants to keep you safe from harm. Consequently, it can come up with all sorts of reasons why you shouldn’t step outside your comfort zone to pursue your dream.
In response, you must simply say that you’re going to use your imagination. This activates the right side of your brain, which is where your ideas and creativity live.
Then visualize the dream, which you drew on the right hand side of the piece of paper. It’s especially important to color it in. And feel the emotion you would feel as if you’d already achieved your heart’s desire.
Step 3: Act on It
Your brain knows you and your life inside out. As a result, you just have to ask it to produce a more detailed map of how to get from where you are now to where you want to be.
So, look at your picture and close your eyes. Relax. And your brain will come up with the best possible solution of how to make your dreams come true.
Then every day when you get up, you must act on the ideas your brain has generated.
Take the first step, and the next step, and the next, until your dream becomes your reality.
